In 1990, my parents opened up small gift shop in Murphys, Ca., that featured my mother’s artwork, line of clothing, and various dried and silk floral arrangements. A year later a new winery was built just outside of town, and we knew then that is would prove to be a very popular site for weddings and major events. Thus, Duffys Florist was born.
I co-owned the shop for 11 years with my mother, and after she returned to real estate sales in 1998, I ran the store for 3 more years. After careful consideration in 2001, I decided to sell the store to spend more time with my growing children and traveling husband. Not long after the sale of my florist shop, I went to work for another local florist for another 6 years.
At the end of 2010, I decided to take our long history of floral designing, and art, into the genre of wedding planning. Unlike most planners, Silver Leaf Events can offer brides full service floral needs, along with coordinating and designing from top to bottom. We believe in creating a comfortable professional/client relationship, and we strive to listen to your desires and needs to create the wedding of your dreams!
We still offer brides the same full attention to detail as we always have since 1991, and I still offer a free 2 hours initial consultation so that we get to know one another in a relaxed and informal setting.
